A 1930s-style tea dance – including a class for beginners and a display of ballroom dancing – and tiffin in celebration of the annual dance instigated by the Ross Institute to mark the anniversary of Sir Ronald Ross's discovery of the link between mosquitoes and malaria (in 1897). The Institute was incorporated into the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 1934. The dress code is 1930s or tropical attire. World Mosquito Day is held annually on Aug 20.
