Time Out says

Folk is cool again, haven’t you heard? Morris, the traditional English folk dance (yep, the one with the hankies and bells), has seen a huge surge in popularity in recent years – and here at this taster event, you’re invited to give it a try and find out why it's attracting a whole new generation of participants.

New Esperance Morris is an inclusive women’s morris dancing team based in London. At this free event, everyone from complete beginners to experienced dancers looking for new teams can come along and learn the basics. The session will begin in the Queensborough Community Centre in Borough (11 Scovell Rd, SE11QQ), then move onto a friendly local pub.

No, you won’t need to bring your own hankie. Just bring comfortable shoes, and a willingness to try this energetic dance. Who knows? Before long, you might have a whole new group of pals.
