March for Mothers

This 5km run/walk has been organised to raise awareness of the thousands of women who die in pregnancy and childbirth each year, while raising money for Health Poverty Action, which supports mothers and babies in some of the world’s poorest countries. The 5km distance represents the distance that a third of woman in northern Sierra Leone are forced to walk to reach a health service. For every £1 raised 96p goes directly to the charities’ programs.
