Time Out says

Cartoneras are pieces of waste cardboard turned into colourful books by grassroots Latin American publishers. It is a phenomenon born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, as a collaboration between writers, publishers, and waste-pickers, in the wake of the 2001 economic crisis. Learn how to make them from South American activists at these workshops. Each workshop had a different theme from housing and social justice to sustainable communities.

Workshops take place at Garden Halls, 1 Cartwright Gardens, WC1H 9EN Sep 17-19 and at The Story Garden at The British Library Sep 20.
