This festival celebrating the contribution of universities to culture in the capital covers more than 50 talks, walks, exhibitions and discussions. Programme highlights include 'Philosophers on Failure: Is That Funny? Thinking About Jokes and Paradox' at Somerset House(Oct 22, 6.30pm); the 'Self Made Worlds' exhibition at Wimbledon College of Art, which includes pieces about alternative realities and artificial environments, in mixed media by staff and alumni (Oct 21-25, 10am-5pm); and Lord Peter Hennessy's lecture at the Royal Scoiety of Arts about whether or not the 'British establishment' still exists (Oct 24, 1-2pm).
