Istanbul comes to London this weekend in a four-day selling fair of art, food, drinks, accessories and fashion. Although Turkey has an Islamic government, the country’s largest and most culturally hip city does things its own way, and it has a reputation for ground-breaking contemporary art and modern gallery spaces. As well as discovering Istanbul’s leading artists, gallerists, architects, designers and fashion designers you can buy great Turkish products from independent producers, taste the city’s cuisine – including a luxury take on street food – and enjoy some excellent Turkish coffee and wine. The fair has talks and fashion shows too, as well as events aimed at introducing one of the most exciting and fascinating cities in the world. For those enticed to make the four-hour flight and see the real thing, there’s also plenty of information about visiting the city.
