London’s latest all-in-one Christmas destination has been lighting up Leicester Square since November. Here are nine festive pics to get you feeling merry

1. Festive cheer

The city’s latest all-inclusive Crimbo destination opened last month and is set to bring lights, tinsel and forced merriment to Leicester Square until Sunday January 8 2017.

2. A Cabaret

The Olivier Award-winning theatrical phenomenon ‘La Soirée’ is back for its seventh season in London and making Leicester Square’s Spiegeltent its circus tent this Christmas.

3. Santa

Never one to miss out on a party, Father Christmas has been sitting beardily in his grotto since November. Better get there before he runs out of presents, though – he’s had over 4,000 visits already. 

4. Christmas pressies

A fully fledged Christmas market of 20 different stalls sells everything from handmade earmuffs and wooden crafts to as much festive tat as you can handle.

5. Warming food

Six different food stalls will keep you happy and well fed with the likes of French cheese, charcuterie boards, barbecued meat and mini-pancakes.

6. Liquid chocolate

…and an obligatory Belgian chocolate fountain.

7. Booze

We probably should have mentioned this earlier but, yes, don’t worry, there is a bar to help get you in the merry spirit.

8. Art

Underbelly and Westminster City Council have also teamed up to create ‘Winter Windows’ – a project giving 20 local schoolchildren the chance to exhibit their artwork on the north side of the square.
