The four HandleBards – an itinerant troupe of players, who carry everything they need (set, props, costumes and camping gear) on their bicycles – will perform A Midsummer Night’s Dream (7pm on 11 and 12 Sept) and Hamlet (2.30pm on 12 Sept) in the wonderful setting of the Chelsea Physic Garden. Gandalf himself calls them ‘uproariously funny’, and you don’t contradict Sir Ian McKellen when it comes to matters of the Bard.
Your show ticket includes a complimentary G&T, but bring your own blankets, weather-appropriate clothes and a picnic – or be lazy and book one through the Tangerine Dream Café (tangerinedreamreservations@gmail.com).
Note: don’t bring your own alcohol (wine, beer and gin will be sold during the event), glasses or bottles, and leave your camping tables and chairs behind too (available in the Garden for a £1 donation).
