Time Out says

The annual service in which clowns, dressed in full costume, gather to honour the king of the clowns, Joseph Grimaldi (1778-1837), will be conducted by the Revs Rose Hudson-Wilkin and clown chaplain Roly Bain. After the colourful service and wreath-laying, clowning memorabilia will be on sale for half an hour, then a free clown show takes place in the school hall over the road. Material from the Clowns Archive will be on display in the church before and after the service, in the corner under the stained glass window depicting Grimaldi. (The main museum displays have moved to Wookey Hole in Somerset, though the research material in the archive is available to view at Holy Trinity on the first Friday of every month.) Arrive early to get a seat – it's a popular event and the church often overflows.
