Time Out says

We all dread that bit in David Attenborough documentaries when he suddenly switches to a very sombre tone and forces us to confront how our changing climate means the creatures we’ve just watched galavanting on the screen probably won’t be there for much longer. Well, this new exhibition from WWF coinciding with Earth Day, is basically an art show of that final 10 minutes of the programme.

Twenty images created using artificial intelligence and in the style of Romantic landscape portraits have imagined what the UK will look like in the future if we continue down the environmental path we’re on right now. Spoiler alert – it’s pretty bleak stuff: from bloodied whales stranded on the UK coastline and post-apologetic scenes of the Sussex countryside turned to landfill.

If it’s all starting to sound like quite a macabre day out, don’t worry. There are also some more hopeful portraits here of what can happen if the UK gets its act together and starts changing how we treat the natural world, and you might just learn something new too.
