After celebrating the 25th anniversary of its annual summertime horror bonanza in August, London’s primo horror film festival – dubbed ‘the Woodstock of Gore’ by no less an authority than Guillermo del Toro – is resurfacing, Kraken-like, for a spooktacular Halloween. Head down to the Odeon Luxe West End to catch eighteen screenings of nine terrifying movies over the ‘Halloweekend’, including the UK premiere of Magpie, a Sam Yates-directed psychological thriller with Star Wars’ Daisy Ridley, German direcotr Guido Tölke’s chainsaw-wielding action spectacular The Bitter Taste and Mexican shocker Parvulos, described as Lords of the Flies with zombies. Needless to say, the festival has an 18 rating. Bedwetters need not apply.
