Looking for a place to party near your office? Canary Wharf is a go-to for all your festive needs. Whether you're seeking the perfect venue for large groups, smaller celebrations or simply an unforgettable night out, there is something for everyone and every kind of taste. An all-day destination with over 80 cafes, bars, restaurants and 120 stores, a buzzing spot that’ll have you chowing down on some of the city’s best steaks, getting competitive with go-karts, sharing cocktails and dancing to live musicians. Canary Wharf has all the makings for merry and bright festivities. Here are a few reasons why you should book it.

1. You’ve got some of the city's most-loved restaurants

If it’s dinner you’re after, you’re spoiled for choice. Serious meat-eaters will love the chance to feast on classic chophouse dishes from Blacklock (we’re sure they’ll have a mean Christmas roast on the menu), while Dishoom and Kricket offer a wide variety of family-style sharing Indian classics that pack a serious punch. Then, you’ve got Feels Like June which serves Europe-meets-West-Coast cuisine for a taste of the sunshine during the cold winter months. Going plant-based? Mallow will inspire a crowd of hungry diners with its sustainable, seasonal vegan food. Then you’ve got Marceline, a brand-new brasserie taking inspiration from Paris and New York with its modern European fare.

2. And some top private dining options

For those looking to go a little more upscale, we’d recommend Hawksmoor, an award-winning spot specialising in British steak and sustainable seafood with a reliable cocktail menu to get you in the party mood. For private wine-tasting vibes, Humble Grape is a top spot. But if you’re willing to splash the cash, you can’t go wrong with the grand dining room at Roe, or, and you know it’s a classic for a reason, The Ivy in the Park’s enviable selection of festive culinary delights.

3. When you want to keep the party going? There are late-night spots

Boisdale is a sprawling venue with a Scottish restaurant, multiple dining rooms, the UK's largest whisky bar and a live music venue – so you can spend plenty of time rocking around the Christmas tree here. With its nature-themed decor, lush green furnishings and delicious food, Pergola on the Wharf is a seriously dreamy place for group dinners. And when you’re done, you can swing by The Cocktail Club for all manner of quirky concoctions. We dare you to try one of their massive sharing vessels. Looking for drinks with a view? Hovarda Canary Wharf has launched aboard a floating pavilion in the heart of Wood Wharf, making for quite the charming Christmas party location.

4. There are also competitive socialising spots for when you need an activity

Sometimes you just want to absolutely wipe the floor with one of your work mates. Build up relationships and create some seriously good memories at activities such as Capital Karts, which will have you zooming around an indoor go-karting ring. Or, have a crack at Clays' immersive shooting experience. For something a bit more high-tech, you’ve got the light-up shuffleboards at Electric Shuffle, the revolutionised fairground games of Fairgame and The CUBE, where you will take on iconic games from the original TV series.

5. Plus, it couldn’t be easier to get home after

When you’re planning a Christmas party, you want to be absolutely certain everyone can get home ok. Close to a wide variety of London’s offices, and connected via the Elizabeth and Jubilee lines and DLR, with three-hours free parking on weekends, it’s a seriously accessible spot. Just make sure no one leaves their secret Santas behind on the tube home.
