The big bank holiday is nearly here – but why should you pack all the fun into one long weekend? From Thursday May 26 till Sunday May 29, Canary Wharf will be packed with moreish treats and eats, live music, and discounts across some of your favourite shops. You can even work up a sweat taking part in the famous Barry’s Bootcamp! Read on to find out exactly what’s in store for Wharf Weekender.

1. For the pop-ups

Pop-ups, pop-ups everywhere. Across the four days, you’ll be treated to various limited offerings. Rudie’s Jerk Shack (you might be familiar with its permanent spot in Box Park Shoreditch) will be serving up authentic Jamaican bites, like the Yardie Box. Other pop-ups will include Shutters, offering cocktail and food samples. And you can even get pampered at Ted’s Grooming Room, a Turkish Barber with London flair, all against a backdrop of tunes from Pergola on the Wharf.

2. For the in store moments

As for what’s happening in store, pop into MALIN+GOETZ where you’ll be treated to a mini facial treatment. Who could say no to a bit of relaxation? And while you shop at Monica Vinader, enjoy a glass of sparkling wine. Other retail therapy on offer is a high-shine service for any shoes you might buy at Crockett & Jones, as well as bubbly and sweet nibbles at perfume house Penhaligon’s.

3. For the discounts…

You won’t believe the discounts on offer. It means you can experience the long bank holiday to the fullest without breaking the bank. Winning! One of the highlights are the huge reductions at Monica Vinader (up to 50 percent). Other discounts include 20 percent off at Ollie Quinn, 20 percent off selected items at Paul Smith, a complimentary goodie bag when you spend £75 at Space NK, and 20 percent off at Sweaty Betty when you spend £100.

4.  …and more discounts!

If that wasn’t enough to tempt you, there are tons of food discounts on offer from all different cuisines, for when you’ve worked up an appetite. You can indulge in a free moreish Mochi at Poke House and a huge 50 percent off ribeye and fillet steaks at Boisdale. And if you’re coming with the family, go on a Mediterranean adventure at Gallio and make use of the kids eat free offer. Caravan is doing an offer where you’ll get two for one dishes at breakfast, lunch and dinner – nice! While Emilia’s Crafted Pasta, best known for its delicious Italian dishes, will throw in two scoops of takeaway gelato with your meal.

5. For the atmosphere

Canary Wharf also has a great atmosphere. So even if you don’t feel like doing much eating or drinking, there is loads to captivate you in Canary Wharf. There’ll be live music, plus free minigolf transformed into a bold, colourful court by artists Craig Redman and Karl Maier. Continue the sporty theme at the bright ping pong tables in Montgomery Square, or shoot some hoops at the vibrant basketball court designed by British-Nigerian artist Yinka Ilori. Continue your exploration through Canary Wharf’s many secluded green spaces, dotted with fascinating sculptures (did you know Canary Wharf has London’s largest outdoor art collection?) as well as surprises like Camille Walala’s playful ‘Captivated by Colour’ tunnel. Right now, there are exhibitions on display at Canary Wharf from Patricia Volk (Cornucopia) and Helaine Blumenfeld OBE, too. Our tip: don’t miss the stunning Crossrail Place Roof Garden, a lush wonderland of exotic plants open daily until sunset.

Make sure you come to Canary Wharf Weekender, Thursday-Sunday May 26-29.
