With London lit up like a Christmas tree, a nighttime cycle around the city can be an exhilarating experience, particularly when your destination is one of London’s spectacular fireworks displays. Wind your way to a docking station near one of these awesome events and enjoy the colourful spectacle on offer. And remember to leave your bike docked and plan an alternative route home if you’re enjoying a tipple while you’re out.

Join crowds of east Londoners as they watch the sky light up with a dazzling display over Hackney, accompanied by eye-popping visuals and a banging soundtrack. This event has always been free, which means you’ve got more cash to splash on the food stalls, and you can warm your handle-bar frozen mitts on mulled wine in front of the park’s fantastic fire show.

Make sure you nab tickets to south London’s finest fireworks display, which is choreographed to a musical soundtrack inspired by this year’s theme ‘Power’ -  bound to leave you pumped up for the journey home. Alongside the Jubilee Fireworks, there will be a bonfire, plus a cash-only bar, food stalls and concessions selling glow products.

The Southwark sky will sparkle once again on November 5 thanks to this annual display, now in its fourteenth year. Expect a cracking set of fireworks accompanied by music and a family funfair, plus a whole load of hot food stalls to keep crowds feeling toasty. Gates open at 5pm and last entry to the park is at 6.30pm. The nearest docking station is on Bermondsey Street, then it’s a 25-minute stroll to the display.The event is ticketed but free for Southwark residents.

Expect a family-friendly vibe at this fireworks display, one of a pair of Hammersmith and Fulham Council displays (the other is in Ravenscourt Park). Arrive early to settle in for the main event – a choreographed display to music at 8pm before checking out the funfairs and food stalls, which always have a buzzing atmosphere. Tickets will be available to purchase through the Lyric Theatre website or the box office until 4pm on the day of the event.

Take your bonfire night to swish new heights at this display, which has Catherine wheels and rockets pinging off the Spanish garden at Kensington’s Rooftop Gardens. Expect DJs until the small hours, while cocktails and BBQ snacks will keep guests fed and watered throughout the night. Arrive before 8.30pm to take advantage of the welcome cocktail offer. Doors from 7pm-10pm. Don’t forget to pack your glad rags in a rucksack and book a cab home as bikes and booze don’t mix.
