This workers’ village was built by the owner of the Sunlight Soap factory in 1888. Its rows of red-brick houses are beautiful enough, but there are many other sights to seek out. The museum’s collection of ephemera ranges from vintage soap packaging to a retelling of how Ringo made his debut with The Beatles in a performance here in 1962. Most visually stunning, though, is the PreRaphaelite collection at the Lady Lever Art Gallery.
