Time Out says

Yes, Christmas is the time for singing, family, cheer and gorging on Lindor chocolates. But, the holidays can also be a time to reflect on times past and those who are no longer with us, which also makes festive season a great time to enjoy a few ghostly tales. Dickens certainly knew it, and so did several of his Edwardian successors, W. W. Jacobs, Algernon Blackwood and A. M. Burrage. All three of these masterful ghost story writers penned tales set during the holiday period, which you can hear in the suitably atmospheric surroundings of Greenwich’s Jacobean manor Charlton House, at this evening hosted by captivating storyteller Matthew Wood, aka Edwyrdian Tales. Be advised that there is no interval duriing the 80-minute performance, and it’s definitely not suitable for children under ten.
