Guaranteed to warm hearts even on the coldest of days, the Kingdom of Winter, hosted by ExCeL London brings together all of your favourite festive activities under one roof this December. Launching on December 8 and open seven days a week until January 7 at ExCeL London, the Kingdom of Winter is the perfect solution to creating a magical experience for your families or friends when planning a seasonal get-together. The Kingdom of Winter is the capital’s biggest indoor winter experience and has a vast array of activities and amusements to prove it. With activities, attractions, rides, retail, food and drink all under one roof there’s something to keep everyone entertained, whether they want to cuddle up with a winter warmer or practise their triple toe-loop on the ice. Here’s what you can expect from the experience.

1. Hit the ice!

Whether you’re a complete beginner or a passionate amateur, have a go on the ice rink. Because we know no festive day out is complete without channelling your inner Torvill and Dean. There are sessions every hour on the hour for 45 minutes, and tickets start at just £7 for kids and £10 for adults. So make sure to book yourself in.

2. Circus antics

Book tickets to the Big Top for a brand new festive circus created by world-renowned Circus Cortex. Here you’ll find illusions and acrobatics that the whole family can enjoy across four shows a day. Tickets start at £7.00 for kids and £10 for adults, while those under 2 go free. You’ve also got traditional fairground rides, such as the carousel, bumper cars, waltzer and the ‘Ice Jet Force’ extreme ride.

3. Winter-themed surprises

Make the most of the ever-so Instagrammable ice expedition trail/ Despite spending the day in the warmth of ExCeL London, you’ll need to wrap up warm for this photo experience. Be among the polar bears and penguins on a unique trail that’ll delight those of all ages. Sessions start from just £4 and £6 for adults and are available for 20 minutes. Oh and make sure to swing by the alpine-inspired shopping village, where you can pick up presents for little ones, whether they’ve been naughty or nice.

4. Proper festive feasting

You won’t go hungry here, as you’ve got two fully-equipped food stalls to explore. Whether you’re looking for snacks, main courses or Christmas treats, you’ll find them and steaming hot drinks served all day. The two multi-storey alpine chalet bars offer a wide choice of alcoholic and non-alcoholic tipples. So make sure to celebrate Crimbo with a hot mulled wine.

5. All in the city centre

You get all the feels of the North Pole but without the fear of a rail replacement service for Santa’s sleigh. Instead, there are great public transport links, along with extensive parking available which can be pre-booked, and all just over 10 minutes from Central London.

Open December 8 2023–January 7 2024, 7 days a week from 10am until 8pm. Closed Christmas Day. Entry tickets start at £5.50 for super off-peak, £6.50 off-peak and £9.50 standard, and the circus, ice expedition trail and ice skating should be booked in advance to avoid disappointment.
