Time Out says

Croydon is officially cool. It has a Box Park, a Breakfast Club, a Meat Liquer and now it's very own Literary Festival. On the bill for the day-long book fest is 'What's So Funny About Croydon?' inspired by comedian Sue Perkin's remark that 'Croydon isn’t so much a place as a punchline' and talking about what makes the borough the butt of jokes, talks from Croydon authors John Grindrod and Peter Watts, plus a panel of authors, top publishers and agents, offering guidance to Croydonites who want to write their own books.
