Crack the Case

Can you solve a crime before it's happened? Should you? It sounds scarily Minority Report-esque but there are existing methods that can be deployed in preventative crime fighting, although they involve using the internet rather than three psychics floating in blue jelly. Forensic Outreach, who run programmes to introduce forensic science to academic institutions, will lead this interactive workshop exploring and considering the potential of preventative, digital crime-fighting. Visitors will learn new techniques, including hot spot analysis, then put their skills to the test using an interactive app to solve a scenario and crack the case. All materials will be provided and there will be a cash bar available throughout the event. The workshop coincides with the Museum's current exhibition The Crime Museum Uncovered.
