Rodney Archer, owner of 31 Fournier Street, and curator Trevor Newton present this selling exhibition of portrait drawings and sketches by Whitechapel Group artist Clare Winsten. The works, created from around 1910 until within a few years of the artist's death in 1989, come straight from Winsten's private archive. Among the subjects of the 160-odd preliminary sketches, ideas and characters are children, femmes fatales, domestic pets, village characters and people glimpsed in the streets and underground air-raid shelters of wartime London. The works are for sale from around £50 to £150. Entry to the exhibition is by appointment only, email info@31fournierstreet.london giving a preferred time and number of visitors.
