Taxi journeys aren’t always the most thrilling of experiences. But we reckon a journey in one of the taxis being tested on Paris’s waterways would be a lot more fun. The city has just begun a trial of the Sea Bubble – a ‘Back to the Future’-esque flying water taxi (yep, you read correctly – FLYING WATER TAXI). Once it reaches a certain speed, the sleek, electric-battery-operated contraption takes off and hovers half a metre above the water throughout its journey. Amazingly, it’s not only completely noiseless, it produces no waves and no emissions. The French company that invented it says it’s had a barrage of requests about the vehicle from cities including Miami, Tokyo and Bangkok. Needless to say, it looks like these babies are set to make a splash.
City envy: We want Paris’s bubble taxis
