Designed by Richard Rogers Partnership, the Channel 4 headquarters building occupies a prominent corner site, comprising office space for up to 600 staff, broadcasting suites and studios. Clad in pewter-coated, powder-grey aluminium and glass, the building is noted for its dramatic atrium and won a RIBA National Award in 1995. Viewed from the right angle, a 'Big 4' constructed from metal bars appears outside the front of the building. Since its construction in 2007 different artist have created skins to decorate the sculpture, which mirrors the channel's on-screen branding.
Booked tours of the building for Open House London 2014 will take place on Saturday September 20, 10am-5pm and Sunday September 21, 10am-2pm. To reserve a place, email openhouse@channel4.co.uk.
