Before Nigella Lawson, before Delia Smith, before even Mary Berry (no offence MB) Britain's domestic goddess was Mrs Beeton. She's one of the most important characters in food history and 2015 marks the 150th anniversary of her death. This exhibition looks at the cook and writer's influence on 19th-century celebrity chefs and her continuing impact on the culinary world.
A free lunchtime talk on food and drink in the city will take place every day from March 16-20. Check the Guildhall Chronicles event page for details and to reserve a place.
