Can Technology Set You Free?

What is the relationship between technology and freedom? That's the question consuming panellists at this closing event of the Battle of Ideas festival, who will be looking at whether the washing machine really did liberate the 1950s housewife and whether we, in our gadget-filled world, are freer than we were a century ago. Speakers include communications expert Mo Ibrahim, journalist and presenter Aleks Krotoski and Andy Miah, director of the Creative Futures Research Centre.
