Camden Beach

NW1 isn't usually on the list of coastal getaways but, thanks to the ever-creative team at the Roundhouse, this July and August 'Camden Beach' boasts 900 square metres of pseudo-shoreline consisting of 150 tonnes of sand on the venue's terrace, complete with windbreaks and parasols. Added attractions include ping pong, boules, badminton, an ice-cream van (which also sells booze), a Margarita Shack and the Beach Bar and Grill Tiki Hut, which offers beers, wines, spirits and Caribbean cocktails, along with steaks, burgers, fresh fish and some spicy specials. Highlights of this summer's sporting action will be screened and the beach has a family-friendly area:buckets and spades are welcome.
