William Blake was baptised in St James's Piccadilly, where this fascinating talk will take place (in the Meeting Room of the Rectory, immediately following the society's AGM). Parul Jani – a teacher of Vedanta philosophy – explores the mighty Romantic poet-artist's encounter with holy Hindu book the Bhagavad Gita, first published in English by the East India Company in 1785, in a version we know was read by Blake.
