Harvard professor and evolutionary biologist, Edward O Wilson presents this lecture on 'biophilia', dissecting why humans feel a deep affinity and instinctive bond with the natural world and other living systems. Having popularised the term and penned a book on the subject back in the 80s, EO Wilson is the guy in the know, and he's presenting his work in a very fitting space. Second Home is east London's newest cultural institution and the guys behind it have adopted the biophilia concept, weaving it into their building through the use of fractal curves in the architectural design and the 1,000 + trees and plants they've packed into the space.
