Barnes Fair

This annual charity fair celebrates its Ruby anniversary in 2014, and to commemorate, much of the line-up will be '40' themed, from 1940s music on the bandstand to an inter-school quiz that focuses on the number. The grand parade will also be decorated around the theme by local schools and community groups – let's hope they're imaginative – and will feature vintage vehicles and floats. Other entertainment includes fairground rides, live music, theatre, clowns and plenty of food and drink. Visitors can also browse nearly 300 stalls selling cakes, plants, books, vintage clothing and all sorts besides.
