For its first incarnation outside Brazil the Back2Black festival, hosted by Gilberto Gil, features concerts, debates and exhibitions across the Old Billingsgate Market site with a line-up of Brazilian, UK and international artists, groups and thinkers. Includes an exhibition by artist and director Bia Lessa, live music on three stages featuring an eclectic line-up of upcoming and established UK and international artists; a new project with Brazil's breakthrough artist Criolo and father of 'Ethio-Jazz' Mulatu Astatke (Sat); 'The Story of the Blues' featuring the Roberto Frejat band (Sat); and Jupiter and Okwess International – Kinshasa's latest musical export – making their London debut (Sun).
