Angel Building is the result of the transformation of a 1980s commercial building at the intersection of City Road, St John Street and Pentonville Road. Retaining the existing concrete frame, architects Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM) re-wrapped it with an energy-efficient glazed skin that extends the building beyond its original footprint at certain points. The existing internal courtyard has been enclosed to form a top-lit public room. In the foyer there is an artwork by Ian McChesney. The terrace offers great views of London. As part of Open House London 2011, Angel Building is open for tours on a first-come, first-served basis on September 17 10am-5pm and September 18 1-5pm, last entry 4.15pm.
