Anatomy of an Athlete: Elite Sport, Surgery and Medical Art

Working with the Medical Artists' Association, the Hunterian presents artworks that explore the anatomy and physiology of elite athletes. The show illustrates the role played by sports and exercise medicine, and surgery in particular, in elite sports. Displays are dedicated to the latest techniques in orthopaedic surgery, developments in prosthetics and the importance of training to muscle development. Using a variety of media including watercolour, sculpture and video, medical artists represent a selection of sports and para-sports.
