For this fundraiser, geek-totty Brian Cox – the physicist presenter of the BBC series Wonders of the Solar System and Royal Society Professor of Public Engagement – will talk about space exploration, recent scientific discoveries across the Solar System and his own work at the Large Hadron Collider. The setting should be impressive, with the views from the top of the Orbit at their best with the day fading and the lights of London coming on all around Cox as he speaks.
Cox will be talking for about an hour from 7.30pm, after which there'll be a Q&A session, then drinks and a group photo with him. All proceeds go to support Cox's Science Summer School Fund, which brings together eminent scientists and kids from more than 30 Tower Hamlets schools.
