This is the first in a series of four year-long exhibitions commemorating the 100th anniversary of WW1 and exploring the development of anaesthesia and pain relief during this time. The current exhibition, running until early July 2015, looks at the work two medical pioneers, Geoffrey Marshall and Henry Edmund Gaskin Boyle, and the origins of the Boyle anaesthetic machine, a piece of equipment that is still in use today throughout the world.
