Join the good folk of the Book Club for a traditional village fête on the green (aka the Leonard Street carpark), complete with live music from a range of folk and traditional music acts such as the John Langan Band and the Bonfire Band, a spot of morris dancing from the Belles of London City, and lots of twists on traditional May Day activities - including fortune telling with flowers and some unusual village characters. There'll be cider too, of course, and The Dead Dolls Club's Food Foragers will be serving wild food, with dishes such as veggie roll with nettles, dandelion and goats cheese making the most of our abundant springtime produce. The event tips its hat to the famous art event 'Fete Worse than Death', organised by the late Joshua Compston in Hoxton in the summer of 1993.
