Time Out says

It's been 50 years since Margret Calvert and Jock Kinneir standardised the road network, creating the graphic system and two new typefaces (Transport and Motorway) we are all so familiar with today as well. This signage is as respected by designers as it is familiar to road users. Made North, who champion contemporary northern design, have brought together leading designers and artists to create more than forty reinterpretations of the classic circle, triangle and square signs. Contributors include Sir Peter Blake, Sir Terence Conran, Julian Opie and Betty Jackson. Margret Calvert has also produced a new sign and will visit the Design Museum on Monday September 21 to draw a large-scale version of the Children Crossing sign on the museum wall.
