Xerxes

English Touring Opera's exciting new production of Handel's Xerxes (in Nicholas Hytner's stylish English translation), recasts the Persian king as a glamorous prince-turned-pilot in the Battle of Britain. Laura Mitchell stars as Romilda, the society girl who entertains the forces alongside the errant prince Xerxes (Julia Riley). ETO's General Director, James Conway, directs this new production. Joseph McHardy conducts the Old Street Band, ETO's baroque orchestra.
