White Rose the Musical

Well this could go either way: White Rose is an all-singing musical adaptation of the story of the White Rose, a non-violent resistance group who clandestinely distributed anti-Nazi propaganda pamphlets throughout Germany at the height of World War Two. The musical is the creation of an American creative team, most notably Brian Belding, who wrote the book and lyrics and created the show, which follows university students Hans and Sophie Scholl whose univerity professor encourages then to take on the totalitarian government. It’s an idea ripe with dramatic potential, but clearly needs to be handled sensitively.
