As part of Wembley's buzzing new regeneration plans, plans are afoot for a new theatre to (almost) rival nearby Wembley Stadium for size. Flanagan Lawrence, the architects behind Hammersmith's Riverside Studios, are building a super-high tech space with 1,300 seats as well as a glazed foyer, bar and restaurant.
The venue's first production will be a musical version of Suzanne Collins' bestselling novel series 'The Hunger Games', set on a rotating stage. Featuring archery, forests and a wild futuristic cityscape, it should test the new theatre's technical capabilities to the full.
