The choreographer Wayne McGregor directs a new staging of Mark-Anthony Turnage's emotional chamber opera. It stars mezzo-soprano Sarah Connolly as a woman imprisoned for murdering her abusive husband, immersing her in a spectacular 3D environment created by New York digital artists OpenEnded Group. It is followed by the world premiere of dance piece 'Undance', a collaboration between Turnage, McGregor and artist Mark Wallinger. Featuring a new bluesy, action-filled score, it is inspired by American sculptor Richard Serra's 'List of Verbs' and the work of photographer Eadweard J Muybridge. Danced by ten performers from McGregor's Random Dance company. Both pieces are played by a live orchestra under Tim Murray.
