If the great US playwright David Mamet has rather lost the plot in recent times, he has a formidable back catalogue, and this first revival in 21 years for his 1977 play ‘The Woods’ is worth a look. It follows Ruth and Nick, an American couple who spend a weekend in a remote cabin in the woods, where they have a blazing row and an uneasy reconciliation the next day. Russell Bolam directs a cast of Francesca Carpanini and Sam Frenchum.
