Further proof that Theatreland is hoping the second lockdown won’t roll on any further than December 2, this big-name, semi-staged reading of an adaptation of David Nicholls’s novel about an underdog understudy given a big break will have two charitable performances at the Palace Theatre on the first Monday and Tuesday after things are scheduled to reopen. Stephen Fry, James Norton, Mina Anwar, Natalie Casey and more reprise their roles from an animated online version they made earlier this year. Although semi-staged, it should look pretty fab as Dean and Mark Kendrick’s animations will accompany the live show.
