Britten's adaptation of Henry James's novella about an an old country house in which spirits from the past increasingly encroach upon the realm of the living returns to Glyndebourne in Jonathan Kent's unsettling 2006 staging. Kate Royal sings the part of the eager new governess, sent down from London to look after two young orphan children. Giselle Allen plays Miss Jessel and Toby Spence takes the role of Peter Quint. The London Philharmonic Orchestra is conducted by Glyndebourne on Tour's Music Director, Jakub Hrusa.
