Little Operations presents a triple bill of one-act operas directed by Isabelle Hatton; the musical director is Michael Young. 'The Telephone', Gian Carlo Menotti's 1947 short presciently asks, in this age of faceless communication, can a marriage proposal be the only way to distract Ben's girlfriend, Lucy, away from her incessant telephone calls? Then, in 'A Hand of Bridge' by Samuel Barber two couples play a ritualistic game of bridge – but it is not only their cards that need to be kept to their chests. Finally, Mozart's 'The Impresario' is a rarely-performed gem about two warring divas and one exhausted musical agent, here given new life by award-winning librettist Peter Wolf. (Mozart meets 'The Only Way is Essex'!). With piano accompaniment.
