Volta Theatre presents the UK premiere of Philip Glass's opera weaving together two stories of modern Japan, from the isolation of a mythic forest to the buzzing Tokyo metropolis (libretto by David Henry Hwang). Haunted by the ghosts of the past, two couples try to free themselves from a lifetime of longing and loss. The cast: Catherine May (soprano), Rodney Clarke (baritone), Geraldine McGreevy (soprano) and Christopher Foster (baritone), is accompanied by pianist Tom Kelly. The director is Andrea Ferran; with video design by Ian Galloway.
