Time Out says

Jim Cartwright's play was made famous after it was turned into a film starring Jane Horrocks. But this production from Sasha Regan, who's made a speciality of sprucing up seldom performed musicals, will return it to its roots in the theatre. The titular 'Little Voice' is a painfully shy girl with a talent for impersonating the singing greats that she'd rather keep a secret. But in her dilapidated seaside town, she's ripe for exploitation by her mother and an opportunistic local promoter.
