The Revenger's Tragedy (La tragedia del vendicatore)

Seasoned adaptors Cheek by Jowl put internationally-minded spins on classic texts. Their new take on 'The Revenger's Tragedy' takes Thomas Middleton's bloodsoaked Renaissance drama and reimagines it for a setting in modern Italy, full of glamour and corruption. And with a running time of under two hours, this should be a streamlined take on an often unwieldy text. The company's Declan Donnellan will direct an Italian-language production (with English surtitles) with design by Nick Ormerod.
