Time Out says

This pioneering experimental work was first staged as a 24 hour performance in Dublin in 1975, as an innovative way of remembering the 1916 Easter Rising. Epic verse and dialogue combine to explore the life of the great Irish revolutionary James Connolly, from his beginnings in Scotland to his end in front of a British firing squad.

This Finborough revival marks the centenary of the Easter Rising, and chops the original work up into more manageable chunks on Sunday and Monday evenings. Or for those looking to experience the work as its writers Margaretta D'Arcy and John Arden imagined it, two all-day performances will take place on the anniversary of the Easter Rising itself, April 23-24.
