Based upon Giovanni Paisiello’s opera ‘The Imaginary Astrologer’, this musical comedy by James Farwell is set in Italy, 1929, and follows the escapades of Julian, an illusionist who falls foul of the Mussolini regime and the Catholic Church and takes refuge in a film set, with humorous results. John Walton directs a cast headed by Magic Circle member Dan Smith as Julian.
