Tracy Ryan’s new play is an account of the true-life Dunnes Stores dispute, which took play in Dublin 1984 to 1987. In it, a group of workers for the Irish retail chain refused to sell produce from apartheid South Africa, in line with their union’s vote on the subject. After the first woman to do so was suspended, it led to a wider strike that became a global cause celebre and lasted for years, until Ireland banned the import of South African goods. Kirsty Patrick Ward directs a 13-strong cast.
