Time Out says

The late playwright Charles Dyer had largely fallen off the radar when he died earlier this year. Nonetheless, he enjoyed considerable success in his time, most notably with his 1966 play ‘Staircase’, which followed an ageing gay couple as they looked back fondly on their volatile but loving relationship. It was a hit on the West End and Broadway, before being made into a film starring Richard Burton and Rex Harrison that was emphatically not a hit. Now largely forgotten, it gets its first-ever London revival in Tricia Thorns’s new production, which stars Paul Rider and John Sackville.
